THE CÉTOILE PROMISE
Mulberry silk, Good to Know
Mulberry silk is a natural fiber produced by silkworms fed exclusively on mulberry leaves. Renowned for its softness, fineness, and natural luster, it is considered the highest quality silk.
Mulberry silk is naturally soft, breathable and thermoregulating. It provides a pleasant feeling of comfort all year round and accompanies sleep and daily activities with elegance.
There are several types of silk, including mulberry silk, Tussah silk, Eri silk, and Muga silk. Renowned for the fineness and regularity of its fibers, mulberry silk is considered the benchmark for bed linen, silk pajamas, and silk accessories. At Maison CÉTOILE, we select a natural mulberry silk, grade 6A and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, chosen for its softness, quality, and durability.
Momme indicates the density of silk. A 22 momme mulberry silk offers an excellent balance of softness, drape, and durability, making it a preferred choice for high-end bedding and loungewear.
Mulberry silk is best washed at low temperatures with a detergent suitable for silk. Air drying will help preserve its softness and shine for a long time.
